Santa Barbara County is one of the oldest and dynamic wine producing areas in California, home to seven American Viticulture Areas (AVA’s). The distinctive valleys in this region open toward the ocean, resulting in oceanic soils and contributing to the savory characteristics found in our wines.

Unbeknownst to many, Winemaker Greg Brewer has been crafting seductive and compelling Syrah for 25 years. It’s not Syrah through a Pinot Noir producer’s perspective; it is Syrah through the lens of experience in distinctive cool-climate Santa Barbara wine country. The release of our fourth vintage delivers the exacting texture and pleasure you have come to know. Ex Post Facto, translated to mean “After the Fact”, encapsulates Greg’s slightly deviant desire to go outside his Brewer-Clifton paradigm to explore an outside muse.
CRAFT
Sixty days on the skins and stems. Most exhausted cooperage. We strive for whole cluster fermentation. We farm with a focus of ripening the stems alongside the fruit, allowing the cluster to be in harmony. Working with the stems allows for wines that are structured, earthy and balanced with our beautiful Santa Barbara County fruit
CELLARING
All of the wines are produced with the intention of aging and cellaring for at least 10 years and can easily be enjoyed after 15 years.
We have an uncompromising commitment to quality. Using sustainable and organic farming methods, we work to achieve a balance between the site, the vines, and the microclimates in each vineyard.
